Our hearts and prayers go out to the Poole Family. Seven members, including five children, died in the Orange Mound fire on Baltimore Avenue recently.
Donations can be made to the "Poole Family Memorial Fund" in care of Regions Bank, 3307 Poplar Avenue. Drop-off donations, including clothing, can be brought to Greater Hope Baptist Church, 2660 Spottswoods Avenue.

Verna Boyd Richardson(below),fomerly of Holly Springs, MS. is part of WDIA history as a 1969 WDIA Calendar Girl(Miss WDIA). She said that A.C. "Mooha" Williams(WDIA legend) and his wife took her under their wings during her endeavor with WDIA. She is an aunt of Lisa Sherie(former K-97FM Dj and widow of the late J. Michael Davis of WDIA) and is presently residing in Wisconsin. Verna and I were also high school/college sweethearts and after many years have recently become reacquainted.
